The Subdividers Music

The Interview

dave hole“It was my great pleasure to perform with the Subdividers several years ago as a part of their Tsunami Benefit Concert.  Their tight grooves had the room jumping within moments and their collective musical talents and bonhomie made for a very special and memorable evening.
In particular it was a thrill for me to once again be onstage with Michael Glendinning.  Mick and I go a long way back, having played together in several bands in our early years.  He remains one of the most gifted bass players and nicest guys I have met in all my time in the business.”

Dave Hole – ARIA Award Winning Blues Artist

"Many thanks for a truly enjoyable performance at our Music in the Park event at Dalyellup Beach estate on Saturday February 6, 2016. Over 400 people came along to enjoy your full 3 set performance and the feedback from those who attended has been very complimentary. You music choice was ideal for a family event and your engagement with the audience was well received. We hope to be able to invite the Subdividers to perform at future Satterley community events."

Amy Blundell – Community Development Manager, Satterley Property Group

"The Subdividers played a two and a half hour gig for Rossmoyne Primary School's 50th anniversary community event on 20 Nov 2015. From start to finish they had the crowd buzzing and dancing to their broad repertoire which suited all the generations present. The sound was awesome, song selection sensational and stage presence worthy of the many bands they covered form the Stones to Beatles and Dire Straits. Thanks boys for a great gig."

Geoff Anderson – Principal RPS

“It was a great pleasure to be invited to sing with the Sub Dividers. I’d worked with Michael Glendenning quite a lot in the past but never met the other band members. The commitment and professionalism was fantastic. Rehearsals were not just thorough but fun!! This is a great band of guys who just love to play and give everything they’ve got to a repertoire that’ll keep any audience happy.”

Annie Neil – Perth Musician & Professional Teacher

“Thanks for the great music, you and your band are fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the night, well done mate.
Cheers Rob”

Rob Greig – Key Account Manager - Fero Reinforcing Pty Ltd

“Just a quick email to thank you for the great evening our delegates had last night at our closing dinner.  From the first song you played you had them on the dance floor wanting more.  Your engagement with the audience captivated them and revealed a few great voices amongst our delegates that I would never have guessed! It’s always great to work with you and I know I can count on you to deliver a memorable performance. Many thanks”

Renee Bennett – EECW Director of Events

Once again I needed a great band, this time for the World Sailing Championship’s major event, to energise the guests and support James Morrison’s Motown line up.  Who better than the three time winner of the Battle of the Rockers – the Subdividers.  With numbers from the 60s through to more recent additions, this band has a great history and an awesome play-list of covers, standards and favourites.  With the ability to rock young and old, provide backing for featured soloists and really get the party up and running, the “Subs” can do it all.

Jay McDaniell – Event Manager

“Merv and I would like to thank you all very much for making my 60th Birthday such a success. How fantastic was that Band? I was transported back to the 70/80’s and how young did we all feel? The future of music is in great hands!”

M & J Hart, Ferguson Valley

“You might like to know that at meetings in London and Amsterdam I was at last month, people at those meetings who had been at our meeting here in Perth were still raving about our Congress, the venue, the dinner and THE BAND.

The World Muscle Society, whose members research diseases of muscles, is well known for the propensity of its members to dance at the Annual Congress dinner. Never, however, in all the years I have attended the Annual Congress have I seen such a large percentage of the dinner goers up on the dance floor, as at the Annual Congress in Perth in 2012. The band, the Subdividers, was superb, with a great repertoire, and seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were. I cannot recommend the Subdividers highly enough for any such event.”

Professor Nigel Laing, Chairman Organising Committee World Muscular Society 2012.

“The Sudividers are a “ kick arse” rock and roll party band. Always great to do a few numbers with them.”

Lindsay Wells - Perth Blues Guitar Legend

“We fly from Scotland every year just for the Subdividers’ shed gig ..… pizzas. And the band’s not bad either!”

Mike Greaves – Discerning International Music Connoisseur

“Having been the MC who first introduced this band to the stage at Karri Valley Resort, I can only say how impressed (but not surprised) I am to see them continue to grow as a band and provide such a great window into the 60’s,70’s and 80’s music period in particular. Their enormous appetite for playing good music and having fun is almost as impressive as their back stage appetite for life’s finer delicacies!”

Mike Mulhall – Wormall Civil/MC and original Band Manager

“We've hired this brilliant band for a 21st, a 60th and a wedding. On each occasion they were sensational! Why?

- Their musicianship is impressive.
- They have a really good time and read the crowd at the same time.
- They are really happy to accompany the odd 'karaoke wild-card' amongst the guests.
- Their repertoire is great….and they can ad-lib just about any 60s or 70s classic you throw at them.

If you want the dance floor to be packed and the hosts to be relaxed from start to finish, these are the guys for you!

Pete and Jo Randell

“Thanks to the Subdividers for a great performance for the PIA national conference dinner at the Perth Convention Centre. The music was terrific and had everybody dancing and enjoying themselves throughout the night. I think we have set a benchmark which other states will find hard to follow!! Once again a very big thanks.”

Mat Selby - President Planning Institute of Australia WA Division

“…the music is great.  These guys can play!”

Professor Roger Israel from the University of Minneapolis
